  1. Brenda, I think you started ahead of the curve!
  2. Welcome to the Village Gary. If you need help this is the place to find it. Lots of helpful people here.
  3. BTW that was the first time I routed something like that. Everything I did a round over before was straight. I did nothing with burned edges. I just used a Minwax stain (Gunstock) and the burnt areas disappeared.. I'm going to re-cut with Oak and try the suggestions here. Thanks to all.
  4. Very nice cutting. Good work!
  5. Glad to see you are up and at 'em. Very nice projects.
  6. Very nice cutting! I love the pattern.
  7. I bought a HF. I really would have liked the Rigid dual sander but it has a wider footprint and I have a 4" belt sander on the bench. Also I have to keep my 3 foot isle open. I walk with a cane and have very poor balance. I move around my shop leaning on the benches and saws. If seated I have to just roll back and forth.
  8. My small router table and small trim router make it difficult to adjust in very small increments. I think the next time I am faced with this problem I will move the fence partially over the router bit taking small bites, backing the fence farther away from the bit until I can take a final pass. Also have new bit coming. Thanks for the suggestion.
  9. Ah, bench space! I have zero bench space. I just bought a spindle sander which took the last 144 sq inches.
  10. Im retired also, plus I'm old so do not enjoy driving in heavy traffic.
  11. Great puzzle and very good video. Happy New Year to you!
  12. That is one cute little bugger. Very nice work.
  13. Wonderful work. On something that large and complex I understand using a spiral blade. That work is way above my pay grade.
  14. Good to see you are back at the saw. I use a #3 Pegas MG.
  15. You should be happy with the result. Very nice cutting!
  16. Great pattern Mahendra and excellent cutting Mimi!
  17. I'd love to get a planer if only my wife did not insist her car be in the garage.
  18. I have had diabetes well over 20 years and been on insulin most of those years. It is something you can live with. Have to admit I am not too careful what I eat but seem to get by. Stay away from starches is my best advise.
  19. The only hardwoods I use are Poplar and Red Oak from the box stores.Woodcraft is 45 minutes away in traffic and their wood is expensive. I only go there if I happen to need BB. There is Paxton Lumber which has lots of hardwoods but again I no longer like to drive in heavy traffic. Ordering hardwoods is expensive because of shipping so I seldom do that.I cut puzzles from Poplar but have cut many from pine. Pine is cheap and easy to cut. Most of my things will end up in a land fill or Goodwill. If you plan on selling that is another story.
  20. Sad that you have to give up scrolling.I fight arthritis every day, especially in my hands. My mother's hands were badly deformed from RA. I'm hoping I can avoid that. Yep, getting old sucks but it beats the alternative!
  21. Yeah, Office Depot. Went there yesterday and going again tomorrow. I can change size on my printer but I can't print larger than 8.5X11. I can get lots of copies from Home Depot for the price of a larger printer. But then there is the distance one needs to drive. I have one on either side of my home which I can reach in 15 minutes or less even in bad traffic. We LOVE pictures Ray!
  22. Thanks for the responses.
  23. Welcome to the village. You've found a great place to be. Lots of friendly people here. Thank you for sharing your work. It is beautiful!
  24. My router bis is carbide but comes from HF. Very dull and used very little. pulled the bearing and cleaned the two blades. I tried touching them up with a diamond hone. But upon close exam it is not worth it. I'm just ordering a quality bit and be done with it.
  25. Mighty fine cutting on a great pattern!
