Hi Jim: If the articulating blade clamp is lighter than the factory original, vibrations would be reduced simply because the inertia would be reduced as the articulating arm and attached blade clamp reverse direction. Looking at the changes, I suspect the reduction is more "by definition" than actively discernable.

It is time to tell your customer: "Draw me a picture of exactly what you want and I will deliver it because you are confusing* me."
*Confusing me with someone who needs your business.........
Nice work, Kevin.
As for "too cold" you'll forgive me if I am not overly sympathetic. Do you remember from your Milwaukee childhood when it was it was teens below zero and the hairs in your nose seemed to freeze when breathed and the snow squeaked when you walked? That is Minneapolis right now.
Hi Nigel:
Welcome to the Village from Minnesota. Here is a strange exercise I used the help my Grandson master tight turns. Drill a hole just large enough to insert your blade. Now practice rotating the workpiece with slight pressure against the back of the (non spiral) blade. Done correctly, the hole will not grow in size. You will note that if you allow the blade's teeth to drag on the side of the hole, they will enlarge the hole. The trick is to keep the blade centered across the equator of the hole as your rotate the piece.
After you get the feel for that, you can download some practice patterns. Here is one I have used: http://www.scrollsawgoodies.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/03/TCF0003_Practice.pdf
Above all, have fun!

Congratulations, Jim. You have graduated from puttering to beautifully executing some serious work. Well Done!
Congratulations to your daughter as well.

Great job, Kevin - that is all except the "Let it Snow" . Where I come from, Minneapolis, snow needs no encouragement and always overstays its welcome. Now, if it were "let it melt", you would be batting 1000.

Love the mix of wood and overall design. My wife has a much poorer sleigh which she uses to hold the Christmas Cards we get.. Beautiful work. Thanks for sharing!!
Welcome to the Village from Minneapolis. The nice thing about the scroll saw is it doesn't give you a dirty look for ignoring it for awhile. (Only when you screw up a project.)
