  1. You can get a new chuck for your drill press might help
  2. My point was not that's the cheapest is best but more that you can find great bearings at a cheaper price in places like auto parts stores or McMaster karr type places because they go through more and can get them cheaper therefore sell them cheaper and a lot of times they are better bearings than say dewalt or like a tickler store can get ahold of
  3. Take em to your local auto parts store or order from a place like McMaster-karr and you could probably get em all under $20
  4. That's very similar to the way I do it so it won't take much practice lol
  5. At the risk of being a smart butt I'll go along with the title and say A FORK AND A KNIFE lol
  6. I love it already I'm glad to have two saws now I can use my AMT for large stuff as it is 23" and this will be great for everything else lol I'm actually trying to figure out a tension release system for both of them for easier blade changes
  7. Everything works very good on it thus far ordered that clamp and a couple other things threw a pin end blade in it tensioned it up and cuts like a dream now when the clamp comes I'll be in business as far as ease of. Made change anything is better than my AMT
  8. I just haven't had the luck lol
  9. Be careful with the harbor freight bits none of the small ones I get from there are ever even close to running true they are almost always bent
  10. You could also try an profane drill set for gas orifaces mine go from 40 to 82
  11. its got the one with the knob the lower one is missing I was thinking of going that route was also thinking of looking for that tensioner upgrade
  12. This saw came from advanced in 1989 or so says the tag
  13. Now I need to get some blade clamps there was only one on the machine but I'm not complain gin for the price
  14. Turns out it is variable speed
  15. I gotta find that book
  16. Not only that but it's a decent secondary saw for fifty bones lol
  17. It's the one without all that but with two little ones running around affording a good quality saw is out of the question as the last few larger hegners on Craigslist around here have been selling for darn near a grand. I have an old AMT 23" thought this one might be kinda cool to have as a little more portable model for maybe craft show demo's too.
  18. So I found a smaller and older hegner multimax 14 on Craigslist I am most likely going to pick up even though it is old and not in production anymore I don't think ya can go wrong with a $50 hegner
  19. Hello from michigan
  20. Welcome aboard
  21. Nice I've got an old Ryobi still for a backup if I need it but I plan to get a better one at some point
  22. I think an extra table above your current table will do the same as long as ya aren't cutting hugely thick stuff there's some new teeth all the way to the top
  23. There's a guy with an older Hegner not far from here but I don't have a spare $1000 for it at the moment lol plus if I am gonna spend that much I'll just buy a new one lol
  24. Can't wait to buy some more blades just need a little extra cash first
  25. Hello from the U.P. I'm C.J. Not new to scrolling per se had a scroll saw since the early 90's just never did much with it but I got one from my wife's grandparents that is a little nicer than what I had and it rekindled my interest.
