  1. Impressive!! Already looks great. Very interested to see the final.
  2. Nicely done. It captures a sense of motion. Good job.
  3. Superbly done. As you say, the lighthouse is slightly off center, but I think that makes the piece more appealing. The piece is balanced, that is, there seems to be as much to the left of center as there is to the right of center. You have the bird on the upper right and the small house is also on the right. If the lighthouse were perfectly centered, I believe the piece would look a little unbalanced. You did a great job.
  4. Excellent work. You are an expert.
  5. Yes, I have seen it on one of my posts. Unfortunately, I do not know how to follow it. It says, "Run the support tool in the AdminCP to restore the default theme." What is the support tool? Where is the AdminCP? How do I get to it so I can run the support tool?
  6. Superior work. You are very accomplished at woodworking, especially intarsia.
  7. All your pieces are well done. I like the horse best. Thanks for sharing.
  8. Thanks for showing your progress. Very well done.
  9. This is the third dragon I have made. This will be a gift for a grandson. Dimensions: 26" wide by 15.5" high Wood used: Dragon body and head - manzanita Dragon wing -- oak Dragon head piece and neck piece -- alder Warrior -- a single piece of oak Lance -- hardwood dowel Color is either natural wood or wood dye, except for the black coloring. Lines on dragon, shoes and belt on warrior, markings on lance -- wood burning Backer -- 1/4" birch plywood Frame - 3/4" pine The original dragon pattern came from Great Book of Dragon Patterns by Lora Irish. I modified the dragon pattern. The warrior is just my own drawing. Here is my modified pattern. Note that I later changed the tail. I used Keda Dye for coloring. This was the first time I used dye. Here are photos of the dragon and warrior before gluing them onto the plywood.
  10. Excellent!! You are an expert.
  11. Superbly done. Excellent result.
  12. Very well done. Please tell us what kinds of wood you used. Shaping hardwood with only a knife is quite a challenge.
  13. Fantastic work.
  14. Very well done! You have several different colors. Is all that color from different kinds of wood or did you use dye?
  15. Thank you to jollyred for the suggestion about gathering dust from underneath the scroll saw blade. I was able to make that method work pretty well though I do not have a vacuum on my scroll saw or even a flat area underneath the blade for collecting dust. To test his idea, I followed this process. 1. Clean the area directly underneath the blade. This photo shows I did not perfectly clean the entire area underneath the saw, but did clean the area directly beneath the blade. 2. Use a coarse blade to repeatedly cut a scrap piece of walnut. 3. Note how much dust has collected directly underneath the blade and on top of the saw. 4. Using a small paint brush, sweep the dust onto a dust pan. 5. Add the dust to my jar of walnut dust.
