  1. I'm making scroll saw bowls. Been gluing them together then spraying or brushing Urethane on them. but it's hard to sand them between coats once they are glued together as a basket or bowl. cn I do the Urethane on each piece and then glue them together? I also do some with Butcher Block oil and Feed and wax. Can these be done before glue up? thanks
  2. WOW, I never would of thought of all these available options. Thanks all. I will see what is available in my area, & will follw up on them. John
  3. Thanks much, will try all suggestions.
  4. where would I get re-positional glue, and sorry I don't follow about using 2" sellotape on top. John
  5. Great thanks
  6. Thanks
  7. Does it clean off the wood good?
  8. With shelf lining would they copy the pattern to it, or print directly to it? thanls
  9. Thanks for your reply. Can you recommend where I can buy full sheet shipping labels?do you copy the patterns onto them? Is 3M77 in a spray can, & can it be purchased in a lumber yard or would I have to get it at a hobby shop?
  10. Thanks for your help.So it should be used on the back of of the wood or does it matter if it's the good side?
  11. What is the recommended glue to stick patterns onto the wood for scrolling?
  12. We went to Ontario to visit our son, . I found a DeWalt 788 Type 1, for sale in Ontario, close to my son's place. I brought it home with me, what an awesome looking machine, much heavier than the Dremel 1680, which I sold. The Dewalt even came withe the arm lifter, but the guy didn't know how to install it & he lost the little thing that goes on the end of the arm, & hooks onto the bolt to hold the arm up. will have to make something. Also would anybody happen to know where I cam pick up a stand for it in Canada? Home Depot in the USA have it for $74.99, but not available at Home Depot in Canada... Or better yet, does any body have plans to build one on casters so it can be moved? Happy scrolling everyone., John
  13. Thank you all for the great welcome.. Special thanks to Joe M. for the book he sent me , what a great gesture that was. We are leaving in an hour for Ontario to visit our son, (1880 mile drive) will take about 5 days each way pulling our camper. And no computer .Mine caught fire last week & fried. I found a DeWalt 788 Type 1, for sale in Ontario, close to my son's place. Used very little & like new, so my son picked it up for me. I wanted to send him money for it, but he said that was my Father's Day present. It'll be coming home with me, early August. I will be off line till then.. Happy scrolling everyone., John
  14. Thanks Jeff, looks like I found a great place for advice to help me with my new venture. Scrolling looks like a challenging hobby, but also rewarding if I can learn to do it. John
  15. Thanks for the great tip about drilling. I will try doing that once I get my 788 saw home. Really looking forward to using it
