    You might try coating the BB with 1/3 Zinsser Bulls Eye Shellac Quart, Clear ,2/3 denatured alcohol. I use this when I am turning soft wood such as cypress or poplar. This mixture is also an excellent base for just about any finish you want to put on your work.
