  1. Just finished this project that's now hanging on our wall. Very pleased with the way it turned out.
  2. It's right at 24 inch top to bottom.
  3. I had only one glue section in the tower itself which I used Titebond wood glue then held it together with rubber bands. The pattern was created by Steve Good and was supposed to be three sections. I made the base to fit very tight, but did not glue it, just in case she wants to hang this on a wall.
  4. After six months of learning and practicing with my scroll saw, I decided to tackle a big project and a Chritmas gift for my wife. My concern was cutting straight lines. For my previous projects I milled my own wood to size. For this project I wanted to use 1/2" Cherry with a Maple base. Right off the bat I started dealing with cupping which made it a lot more difficult to cut. Lessons learned from that. My best decision was to try the Pegasus modified reverse tooth blade. I cut the entire project with the 0/2. They did a great job of tracking a straight line. Anyway I'm pretty happy with the way it turned out. Thanks to Steve Good for the plans!

  6. Thanks everyone for the kind words. Looking forward to learning and becoming a better stroller through the village.
  7. I started woodworking as a hobby about three years ago while needing something to do in the winter months. I had inherited some tools from my dad but hadn't looked much at his Hawk Scroll Saw until 6 months ago. Wow, I'm hooked on scrolling now, and can't seem to get enough. I'm picking up everything I can read to learn all I can. So many ways and styles to cut. I recently found this site while searching for the best blades to use. Anyway I'm so enjoying my new direction of woodworking through the scroll saw. This is one of my latest projects, modified a bit from Sheila Landry's site.
