  1. You're too kind - I've seen some of your work and I am confident you could do one of these. Here is the template - give it a go.
  2. Thanks Les, This was intended to be a fun cool down project after pushing out my previous "Starry Night in Grand Rapids" and the portrait of a German shepherd. This one turned out better than I had expected. I used Maple for the body, blood wood for the cheeks, walnut for the tail/back and then pine for the electric field.
  3. thank you!
  4. I made a portrait of my mom's German Shepherd, George. She sent me a picture of him enjoying a boat ride and I created a template and went at it. I used Maple, Walnut, Mahogany, Blood wood (tongue), and paddock (collar). I made the frame using Cherry with Walnut trim. Enjoy, Dan
  5. This was the first real project on my new Hegner 22V scroll saw. I call this one "A Starry Night In Grand Rapids" The frame is Walnut with maple trim and splines, the stars are made of various natural hardwoods. The night's sky was cut and airbrushed. I wanted to establish depth, similar to the perspective in the painting, so I offset he city's silhouette. As far as the LED, I have a strip installed that allows you to choose the color, brightness, or transition between colors... the options are pretty limitless. Enjoy
  6. I just bought one and had it delivered less than 2 weeks ago. This saw is a game changer; I hope you enjoy. Dan
  7. Nice! I Just put together a German Shepherd template too. I used a software called Gimp to convert a photo.
  8. Thanks Rolf, My previous Scroll Saw (24" Delta from 1946) was bottom feed so I am used to that method. The Hegner allows more access to the bottom of the work piece so its even easier that I'm used to. I'm loving the new saw so far, I'll pose some pictures of a few projects once I finish them up. Thanks again, Dan
  9. I'm sorry to hear that Ray - maybe they seller is busy and hasn't had a chance to respond. Either way, if you keep your eyes opened, I'm sure you'll find another great deal.
  10. How's the Hegner you checked out?
  11. I have the black background and then stacked a second layer with various thickness of wood to establish some depth.
  12. I found a picture of a sticker online and I made it into a template. I have it saved on my work computer, I can share it with you Monday if you want to make one.
  13. MegaMan is a popular video game from the original Nintendo. This was a gift for my younger brother.
  14. Tough question, that's like asking which Beatle is your favorite (George, duh). They all look great, I'm partial to #1 and #42
  15. Great stuff!
  16. A small part of a bigger piece.
  17. BOOM! Passes the nickel test at full speed.
  18. No problem - I love the open conversation. My saw is scheduled to be delivered today!!! I am taking a 1/2 day at work so I can get things set up asap - I can hardly wait!
