No I didn't -- probably won't use one -- working towards a dream catcher but haven't finished the design -- still have to carve some feathers too
-
Finally!! Only 30 hours into it - still working out what else I'm going to do with it3/8 Baltic birch cut with #1 modified geometry bladeThe lines average between a 32nd and a sixteenth

Finally my Mega sized beast has hit the road to its new home. It's just over 30 x 42 inches before the framing. The letters are 3 inches tall and the centerpiece is 25 x 15 inches. All but the frame is Baltic Birch plywood in 3/4 for the orange borders along with the centerpiece and 3/8 and 1/4 most everywhere else. The centerpiece was segmented and shaped with a Dremel. Big Thank you to Col Pilgrim for being my second eyes and wonderfully brutal critic on the centerpiece.

This is my first completed bowl (I'm working another but it still needs work - experimental idea). The wood is 3/4 Black Limba. It screamed "Take Me" when I saw it at the store so I did. I also did a serving tray from that same piece of wood. The bowl is 15 inches long by 12 wide -- The tray is another post earlier. Need much more practice definitely but I'm happy with it as a first -- Finished with Danish oil and spray oil Poly

Nice Job!! I did a few of those last year but I blew them up larger and made easter baskets for all my grands -- Yours came out much better though (paint hides some things)

Exactly -- just like bowls -- but this is my first -- building up to it Even the end grain on this is cool

I am in love with this wood. It's called Black Limba and when I saw it I had a thought (usually a dangerous thing). But it worked!! This is also my second attempt at angle cutting on my scroll saw (the first is the plywood trial in the pics -- a disaster). My first I cut in the wrong direction. The design is also my own, I think, but after all the pics I looked through prepping for this - who knows
-
Sort of realized something along that line -- it's the ones I'm afraid of that I need to try -- keeps me on my toes and is so sweet when it works -- will be posting another later that scared me to death

I usually used a sanding drum for the most part -- but I did use a Kutzall on the bow -- the glue line transitions can be a bit rough if you don't clamp it tight enough while gluing the layers together -- the planks are very dry but they can have some amazing color -- The bow and feathers were 4 layers and the flower was 6 layers -- all alternating the grain direction -- the big feather was just a single plank

I once made plywood from 1/4 cedar planks and then carved with a dremel -- If you watch close while doing it you can make it work for you

Finally complete but for lacquer -- This is all Baltic Birch cut with a #1 modified geometry Pegas blade on a Pegas scroll sawFrom the ground up --There is a 1/4 backer with 3/4 added for a border (the blue)- then white letters are cut in 3/8 -- the black letters in 1/4 -- the gray and white border on the triangle is one layer 1/4 (gray 1/4 across) and one of 1/4 on top (white 1/8 across centered on the gray. The eagle is 1/2 mounted on a 1/8 backer mounted on the large backer of 1/8 and shaped with a Dremel edit : for some reason it reversed the order of pictures and I can't seem to fix it

For a project I'm about to post here

I think I had a pretty good day today -- starting to get the hang of it _ still need to work on my techniques
-
Thanks Guys -- It's just over a foot across

The board it's going to be attached to you can see grain even though it is Dark Navy blue (btw I use spray paint so no thinning) -- but the rest is a recreation of a patch for an police officer and he likes it a more faithful re-creation plus the 3d effect

I think I did well today -- segmentation cut with scroll saw and shaped with a dremel. 1/2 Baltic Birch cut with #3 modified geometry and shaped mostly with a sanding drum. Next is paint then mounting all the elements together (also still have more to cut). The letters came out pretty sweet also.

When the blade gets dull I'm afraid to change atm -- need super control till the edge dulls a bit -- then its easier

@Badgerboy The pattern came from an on line search for circle mandala's
