  1. I made this a while ago but it is a P-51 with the tail number and base code the same as the one this gentleman flew in 1945.
  2. Pretty accurate. Thanks for sharing.
  3. At least once in a while is better than not at all.
  4. Glad your still with us. Hope things work out better.
  5. Instructions are for patterns? I thought that paper was to start the fire to burn the scraps.
  6. Sorry for the sideways photo; but some fret work with the subject being my chocolate lab! Enjoy.
  7. I haven’t posted any work in a bit and thought I would share this. Was asked to make this and used Wenge. Hope you enjoy seeing it.
  8. @jerry1939 thanks for the update. I have been wondering about him. Praying he gets better soon.
  9. I have been having trouble with Flying Dutchman #3 and #5's lately as well. reduced tension and ran a #7 to make sure it wasn't me. #7 did great, older blade though. In short, I believe there is some sort of problem or the wood being used is less than stellar. Less than stellar wood wouldn't surprise me.
  10. Welcome to the village! I don't know this answer myself, but am positive you will have an answer. Maybe @kmmcraftsor @OCtoolguy can answer this.
  11. Like Scroller Pete, cedar will work best as it is naturally resistant to decay and bugs. Also smells nice cutting. Can be painted after sanding as well. Only thing is be careful cutting it as it likes to break easily.
  12. I have cut a lot of hard woods to include bloodwood with a hardness of 3200. Wichman is on point. Only thing I do extra is I put painters tape on the back before I cut. It is supposed to cool the blade down some so that it doesn’t burn the wood. I have cut Teak and I used either a #3 or #5 ultra reverse Flying Dutchman blades. Didn’t have one problem.
  13. Like these guys said, either the set screw in the left side which I suspect or the tension arm. Brand new Dewalts now a days have the tension loose. When I tighten In A blade, it goes all the way to 5. Just too lazy to adjust the arm, but think it will be done now sooner rather than later.
  14. As you can see, everybody has their own experiences. I started on a 1990 craftsman and upgrades to a Dewalt 21. Best move I made. Like everyone says though, so what you feel comfortable with. I am not ready to make the leap to the top of the line saws yet.
  15. Just finished this and I am thankful for the love of a lab. I am blessed to have a sweetheart. Have had a couple in the past and their love is unconditional.
