Here is a update on the China made EX21. After having problems with vibrations at higher speeds, I received from General International a Replacement saw. I wish i could say it is better than first saw. The vibrations are some what better but not enough to say I am happy. They have to make some changes to eliminate Vibrations at higher speeds if they want to succeed..
I will say that I am surprised that they agreed to replace the saw.
I am now waiting for shipping to return the first saw.

I honestly wouldn't do the rebuild if I were you especially with a brand new saw... I would try to contact the company and see if you can't get a refund.. Or just cut your losses now.. I am still not super impressed with mine even after the rebuild.. Good running saw but something still isn't quite right in my opinion.. I've never owned a "real" excalibur nor any of the other like saws that are made in the old plant.. so maybe it's the way they run.. maybe the Hawk scroll saws have spoiled me.. To do over I kinda wish I had cut my losses and ordered a new Pegas.. They seem to stand behind their product and seem to be quality products.. I've not seen too many good reviews of the China Excalibur..
I put in around $300 to rebuild mine.. But before buying parts.. If I was you I'd start checking for either loose or too tight nuts and bolts.. I've read where some folks have had the saws fall apart with screws / bolts etc falling off.. That would be where I would look right now.. If you're mechanically incline and understand that if you have a bearing screwed too tight or too loose you'll get vibration... Go through the saw and check all of those..

Just received a Email from Mr. Thomas of General International. I ask if Vibrations were a problem at higher speeds. His reply was yes unfortunately, they are working on it.
