My name is LaMar
I’m from South East Idaho
I’m no stranger to wood but have little experience at finer wood working.
I was a carpenter for thirty years and the last contractor I worked for (13 years) built big fancy homes.
It would take a year to build one. One was a Frank Loyd Wright home.
I was involved from the footings to the roofing.
We did some pretty fancy things.
I also worked as a machinist (self taught) for thirteen years.
Some of the things I like to do are. Photography, Camping, Cooking, Shooting antique fire arms, some in competitions.
I’m now retired and have time to do things I think? Time has a way of speeding up and disappearing.
My father passed thirteen years ago and he had some wood working tools.
He was an accomplished wood worker.
My mother passed last September and I inherited some of my fathers tools.
Among them was tools my grand father had.
A scroll saw was one a 1940’s vintage Craftsman model 103.20720 it was kept outside in a shed.
I’ve gone through it and did some repairs and cleaning, refurbishing, removing rust, and making parts.
It now runs like a top.
I’ve done a bit of scrolling with it and have searched the web for information on the craft.
I think I’m hooked.
