  1. Hi, Does anyone know where I could find a scroll saw pattern for a physical therapist? Thanks!
  2. Remember the reason for the season! May the scroll saw force be with you.
  3. Wow Dave, you do beautiful work!
  4. Thanks , I just ordered some.
  5. Is it safe to use WD 40 as a lubricant?
  6. Very informative. Thank you for sharing. I like how quiet it is!
  7. Good job! My first attempts, you will never see, LOL.
  8. The sticker on the side of my scroll saw reads: "Mfd. for Grizzly in Taiwan".
  9. I had a Pegas scroll saw and now own a Grizzly G0969. I chose the Grizzly after doing an extensive research as to the components, where it was manufactured and Grizzly customer service reviews. Both saws practically have the same components as far as motor, body shape and style, and features. Most likely manufactured by the same Taiwanese factory. With the exception that the Grizzly has a more convenient (for me) larger table. I have had dealings with Grizzly customer service on other occasions and they have always done right by me and have been prompt responding. So far, I have been very pleased with the Grizzly's performance and have no issues or complains. It is a smooth and quiet saw. Any questions, please let me know.
  10. Scrappile, I had the same sentiments. I was able to find one at Circle Saw Builders Supply in Houston, TX for less and the shipping was around $7.00.
  11. I really don't know. But is wide and deep enough to accommodate the 1/16" blade. You can call Carter Products and they will tell you the exact measurements.
  12. I have a 14" Grizzly band saw. I installed a Carte Stabilizer(CS)) on it. I was watching Jeff Vollmer's videos where he was cutting boxes and puzzles using a 1/16" blade. And wondered if I could run a 1/16" blade with a CS? So I decided to experiment... The blades are hard to find because of the size. I found out that Pegas makes the blades and called Bearwoods Supply, a distributor for Pegas. I spoke to the rep. who was very helpful and informative and ordered the blade (#14). The blade appears to be 931/2" in length. It fitted well on the groove of the CS with the teeth of the blade clearing the groove. My first cut was a large puzzle. The cut was very clean and smooth (not as smooth as a scroll saw blade). I was very happy with the results, it was fast and accurate. I plan to use this method to cut the outside perimeter of the puzzles and cut the intricate parts of the puzzles with a scroll saw blade to save time. I also plan to use this method for cutting boxes.
  13. I participated at a local craft show over the weekend. To my surprise there were a lot of "crafters" selling items made in China. I thought crafts were items people made.
  14. I was in your shoes a couple of years ago. I got caught in the hype and I purchased a Pegas 21 inch saw. It was one the biggest mistakes I have made when purchasing a woodworking machine. I know a lot of scrollers own a Pegas and are happy with them but I was not as fortunate. My Pegas broke down in less than three months of slight use. The saddest part of the story is how I got jacked around by the seller and the manufacturer. Apparently, they were having communication problems as to finding someone to fix it and unfortunately, I was caught in the middle. This scenario went on for over two months with back and forth e-mails and no significant progress on how and when to fix it. Finally, the manufacturer decided to do the right thing and send me a label to return the unit ( I am glad I kept the box it was shipped, otherwise they would not have accepted the unit). It was a very trying and frustrated two months episode in my life. So, don't get caught up in the hype, do a lot of research and ask a lot of questions from whom you decide to buy from. Good luck.
  15. Sorry to ask such a lame question, but what magazine are we talking about? Thanks!
  16. Thank you, same to you and yours and to all in the Village. And a Happy, Healthy and Prosperous New Year!
  17. I just noticed Amazon has the Dewalt saw on sale for $399.00. The description stated that the saw was made in Taiwan. Is this a marketing error or is really made in Taiwan instead of China.? Tractor Supply has a Jet 22 in. with the stand for $999.00. However, the country of origin is listed as "imported". This could mean the new marketing trend of camouflage for items made in China? Wow, we have to be so "Buyer be Ware" anymore.

  19. My experience with the saw is very short, but I will be glad to answer any questions. BTW I posted it was a 21" but is actually the JWSS-22B a 22" saw.
  20. Dave, I recently purchased a 21 Jet scroll saw. You can purchased a bottom Pegas chuck for the Jet saw. I really like the upper chuck mechanism of the Jet. So far I have ha no issues with it.
  21. Anyone recommends or know where I could find a good magnifying light for my scroll saw? Thanks, Juan
