  1. I try my best to guard my hearing, eyes and lungs, most of the time anyway. A quick cut on the miter or table saw and I don't mask up. When Sanding even using a vac attachment I'll wear one. But, I've yet to put one on when scrolling. There's a fan blowing on me so I count that as protection. I can't wear a mask that long, too hard to breath. Who scrolls with a mask?
  2. I have nephew i haven't seen in years that recently got his commercial pilot's license and I wanted to find a pattern to make him a gift... Can't find any!
  3. Had one for about two days, didn't like it. Light weight vibrated too much and hard to install blades. I have a few Wen tools but all have been swapped a few times to finally get one that actually went through quality control. Glad I purchased the Dewalt and now I feel there's hope if learning something. I buy the bargain tools and almost always regret it. Went through 3 brands of table saws and ended up with Dewalt. Buy the best tool you can afford...
  4. I have so much to learn and I'm not getting any younger... Decided to print out that practice pattern with all of the scrolling examples to try but it was boring... So I decided to test out the different blades I have on another SG pattern Even if I screw it up it's still more fun with the pattern. Tested it on 1/4" BB plywood with the pattern spray glued on clear shelf paper and got a feel for the different brands and styles of blades. It still turned out okay as long as you don't look too close.
  5. Since I retired last year I decided to turn my one car garage into a little wood working hobby shop. Been trying many different things to find an area that would be the most and "safest" to learn. The addition of the scroll saw last week is something that I really want to dive into. I'm sure I can gather much useful information here.
  6. Just bought a Dewalt DW788 scroll saw. Been trying to learn woodworking since I retired last year. Was kinda proud of my first attempt.
