  1. Thanks Don, I might be able to edit the font to make it work. I only need it for a couple of words
  2. Hi all I'm looking for some help with a font. I am a big Glorious Sons fan and I am trying to find this font to make something, I am not trying to copy the logo Thanks for the help
  3. Here's the link to the site. https://www.etsy.com/shop/Namunolie?ref=search_shop_redirect
  4. This was talked about a little while ago. Take a look at this disscussion https://www.scrollsawvillage.com/forums/topic/32512-old-crow-scrollwerks/?tab=comments#comment-363460
  5. I have the Ridgid and love them, bought a combo kit at Home Depot when they were on sale and they came with 2 extra batteries. If you do buy Ridgid make sure you register the product online to get the lifetime warranty
  6. I wonder if this guy has permission to resell or redistribute these books and patterns. Somehow I doubt it. Even if it is a great deal I wouldn't give him a cent.
  7. Hey Brent. Good to see another one from Ontario on here. I live about 45 min to the north east of you I'm in Angus. Kurt
  8. I had that issue a few times and it was always the switch. Just had to blow the dust out and it worked. I ended up buying a foot switch and never had that issue again. Kurt
  9. This is what i did. I have the saw in my shop(a room in the garage) and the dust collector in the garage with all the tubing going through the wall. I bought a remote power switch so i could turn it on and off from in the shop. I can hear the dust collector but it doesn't bother me. I just turn up the radio
  10. I got hooked on the scroll saw when my wife wanted the words Live, Love, Laugh made out of wood to hang on the wall. She had seen some in a local store for $25 each. I took at look at them in the store and they very cheaply made. I told her I could make them for less and they would look better. At the time I had no idea how I was going to do it as I was not a woodworker . I made my first set of words using a jig saw but there was way too much sanding involved, so it was back to the drawing board. I discovered the scroll saw and I made another set of the words and I was hooked. The words are still on our wall.
  11. I agree with Kevin they would make a great looking clock.
  12. Here is what i do to avoid this. Sign up for a Google account or Microsoft account or a Dropbox account and store your patterns on a free online storage. Here is how much free storage i have with them OneDrive 5G, Google Drive 15G, Drop Box 2G Just these three give me 22 G of free online storage. That's tons of room to backup your patterns. Kurt
  13. I was never a woodworker, if i wanted something built from wood i would just ask my dad to make it. I started woodworking when my wife wanted the words Live Love and Laugh to hang on the wall. She seen some in a store that were made in china and were $25 each. I said for $75 I could make some and they will look better then the one in the store. The first set of words i used a jig saw to cut them out but there was way too much sanding involved so after some research I found the scrollsaw. I made another set of the words with the scrollsaw and fell in love with scrolling
  14. What type of glue are you using? The only time that happened to me was when I changed the glue I was using. I bought can of the cheaper Elmers glue and it would happen all the time. I went back to the 3M77 and never had the issue again. There was another discussion about this just a little while ago.
  15. Very good I am just west of Barrie so I will keep an eye out for you.
  16. Jules, welcome and great to have another one from Ontario, where in Ontario are you?. Just keep checking Kijiji every day. I've gotten some good deals for scroll saws on there. I have found 2 DW788 type1 for $150(or $125 sorry can't remember the exact price) and I found an EX21 for $300. I will keep an eye out for any good deals. Kurt
  17. I had the same issue with that glue. Pay the extra for the 3M77 and you wont have the problem. Kurt
  18. Here is another one for you
  19. Another one just to give you a choice

  22. Thanks again Russell. I think you do a great job on dog portraits. The last one you did for me was for my brother and everyone loved it and someone else ask for this dog to be done. Thanks again.
  23. OK it's official I suck at making patterns. I keep trying but can't seem to get the hang of it. Hoping someone can help me with this dog portrait. Thanks
  24. Its not completely finished yet but I have it cut. I still need to but a finish on it and attach a backer. The customer(my Brother) loves it, he will be making the frame for it. This is a friends dog that is very sick. Thanks to Russell. excellent job on the pattern.
