  3. To All Thanks for the Replies: they are all great tips and tricks, I try to avoid long straight lines as much as possible but when cutting out frames I have no choice But again my thanks to you all Take care god bless Keep making Sawdust
  4. To All thanks for the replies I will take note, Granted most of all my project in my gallery are not long straight lines, to which I try to avoid, but if it has to be done I try my best and with a little sanding out But thanks for all the replies again, Take care all keep making sawdust
  5. Ok So Maybe I'm brain farting here but I need some guidance, so when I go to start to cut a straight line my cut is not straight but goes off to the side, now my table on my dewault is plumb but is it that my blade is off centered from top to bottom or either or, any guidance out there???
  6. As the title says I'm Back I have been out for a bit due to some issues on the home front, My now ex-wife filed for divorce on me on July 26th of last year during that stint I stopped scroll sawing and thought I would never do it again, BUT thru the grace of GOD and his plan for me he guided me to my lost love from 25 years ago and now getting re-married May 28th of this year, From her she purchased a new DW 788 scroll saw for me to which re-gained my hobby, SO in short a quite interesting year of divorce stuff 6 plus month worth there and now planning and making items for my wedding, whew what a year so far, not all was fun the divorce thing wasn't but the rest is all god sent I dearly with full heart believe, From there that is where all my works at least for now, have been all for my reception dinner, the sign below and the custom letter box, it may look small on the top box But is cut out on the bottom to which the envelopes will fall to the bottom section of the box, as you may there is some Hawaiian stuff there the hula dancer on the backside of the box and the Tiki mask, that's because my new so to be wife is Hawaiian, There is a story there also but I will just leave that for my memories SO in short its great to be back in the crook of things I have other things I have made soon to post, they will be all in my gallery Thanks to all ALOHA
  7. Well Finally going back into the groove of making sawdust, I was out for a bit at least 6-months ending out now with a result of a divorce , but on the good turn I have reapplied my scroll saw shop and its back up in operation, so you will see more posts here of my works as time passes thanks to all for the awesome comments

  8. Well I'm finally back I was out for a bit, it was a really rough winter expectially up here in Upper Michigan, so now that the weather finally warmed up ( Note: but there are still iceburg's floating on Lake Superior Ha,Ha) SO I had a little time to get some things together, My apologizes to the scrollers asking about patterns that I had made, without getting personal, let just say it was a rough winter, Hope you enjoy my stuff, most of these items I don't have patterns for I drew them onto the wood itself so I'm sorry I don't have patterns to e-mail out,
  9. I have used pine I have learned to ensure to have everything sanded the way you want it then apply a really good coat of sealer, myself I do this twice then apply 3 to 4 coats of outside use poly
  10. Hello All Well, I have a bit of a small problem I have a Dewault scroll saw and lately it seems like when I set my blade in and turn my knobs to tighten down on the blade and tension the blade I usually tension it between 3 and 3.5 I can hear the blade loosen up, I Took apart my whole scroll saw found nothing wrong or wearing, it seens like the knobs that i turn to pinch in the blade seems to loosen even when I crank down on it, I looked at the end of the knob area where the blade would be pinch against it and its really smooth should i somehow rough it up a touch so it has some bite on it so the blade doesn't slip out ( Note: This doesn't happen all the time, everyonce in awhile and or when I'm working on a long time of cut ) Thanks
  11. I usually sign my work and date it when I'm completed with it, I had boughten some cheap business cards something 250 of them for 10 bucks, so for every one that I finish also I place my business card on the backside also, Hope this helps out
  12. Bought a cheap scrollsaw and decided to give a try my 1st was a set of leaves, Then gradually expanded my horizon on things to do, after my dremel scrollsaw crapped out I bought a Dewault scrollsaw with a deeper throat and my creations started to roll. Glad I started this hobby it a relax tool for me after a bad day I just sit in my shop and let the mind juice flow to see what I can come up with
  13. Those whom inquired about my harley sign here is the pattern I used, I did this a little differnt than probably most of you I printed this off on my computer in clear overhead projector sheet and used my overhead projector and shined it onto my wood, I would draw out the motor cycle portion 1st and moved my wood up a little so I could draw out the wording my demensions were about 15 " high x 30" long that is from tip to tip of the lettering, for the orange background I just traced out the outer section of the motor cycle portion, and then cut out my backboard from what I call it, I stapled the backboard to the motor cycle section and as for the lettering I wood glued it on top I used a really good glue clamped it down for the night, All the pieces are spray painted, OH before I forget right behind the lettering there is a piece to which is staples to the backing board, this is also where the lettering is glued on Hope this help out or you may have a different way of doing this project Hope so see some of these in here Take care and happy scrollsawing
