New ex-21 excalibur scroll saw for sale. Brand new, only used once. My friend bought it in Feb and then past away. Still under warranty. Its a great saw from what I understand. Comes with the stand, foot controls, think theres around 300+ blades (mostly spiral), a huge stack of mostly wildlife patterns, and a stencilling program. Asking $800. If it helps make the sale I can even accept credit cards. Really need to sell. Thanks for looking. call me @ 406-422-7836, located in Great Falls, MT.post-22990-0-78341300-1401887552_thumb.jpg

The price seems to be a bit high for a used saw, what are these saws worth new now? I bought a new one two years ago and I only paid $650.00 for it, and it had all that this saw does except for the blades.

Forgive me if I'm wrong, but over here the Excalibur 21 is white and the Ex16 is Black. Is it different over there? . sorry, just looked at General International and they are all black, so different from the UK.

Malcom I have a 21 and it is black.  I think all three sizes are not black in the US.

Thanks Scrappile,

I see now that the colours in the USA do vary a lot, even to purple.  Anyway, if anyone in the UK wish to sell their Excalibur, I would be very interested indeed, but it's too costly to ship it to me from the States. What a pity.

Cheers for now

Seyco is offering these, including shipping,  for $899 so I think pre-owned for $800 is pretty excessive.  It's like a car, you drive it off the lot, and the value goes way down.  Any buyer would also need to contact the company it was originally purchased from and ensure the warranty is transferable.  Just my opinion.

For those in the UK, you can get a new EX21 for Â£579.96 which is $827 in US dollars. If that is too much, you can get the 16" for Â£489.96 or $700.  Since that is the price without the table and accessories, the prices are somewhat higher than in the States.

As for the colors, These saws were purple before the rights to the saw were sold by Sommerville to General.  After the sale, General changed the color to Green to match the rest of it's machines.  General had a distribution deal with Axminster and under that brand the saws were white, and a table with dust collection was added.  Then, the Anniversary edition began shipping, and those saws were black with a gold table and dust collection.  After the promotion ended, the tables reverted to silver/gray and retained the dust collection holes, but they never reverted the saw color back to green, thank God.  Apparently, the 16" version currently distributed by Axminister is black, and the other two models still white.  I think the dust collection holes was probably a unimprovement, but the color scheme is much better.

Well, Randy, you are probably correct about the price, but looking at the picture it does look like new.  The table doe not look like there is a mark on it and my experience is they mark up quickly, least mine did.  Now if I lived close, and was in the market for a new one, I be looking at it.  I would probably try to talk you down to around $700, but if you wouldn't budge I will probably leave with it figuring I saved  $100 on the price of a new one anyway and got a bunch of free blades.

Now if it was a purple one, I wouldn't take it as a gift, I hate purple.

Unfortunately, I didn't see a message Randy sent me about the Hegner before I had ordered one.  He was 100% correct in telling me it may not be the saw I want for the type of scrolling I like to do.  Now I have one that sits there.  It may get some use if I get going on intarsia or other scrolling that includes thicker woods, less detail.  Don't know why I am adding this other than to let people know Randy is a stand up guy and worth listening to.
