Jim Finn Posted July 12, 2014 Report Posted July 12, 2014 I have been attending a local farmers market selling my boxes with images inlaid into the hinged lids. For the past five Saturdays I have sold over twenty boxes. I sold twenty two today, plus some wall hung items. A local farmers market can be a good place to sell our stuff and is usually very inexpensive to set up there. This market opens at nine AM and closes at one PM. Nice short day. bobscroll, Stogies and Pat W. 3 Quote

heppnerguy Posted July 17, 2014 Report Posted July 17, 2014 Jim you nailed the perfect seller. your boxes are so beautiful and your prices are so inviting. I don't see how you could loose with them. Of course, you already know that I am one of your biggest fans. I have a box made but I can't figure out how to do the hinges. When I get that part figured out, maybe I can remember how to do the inlay too. Darn it is difficult being old Dick heppnerguy Jim Finn 1 Quote
Jim Finn Posted July 17, 2014 Author Report Posted July 17, 2014 I use decorative, surface mounted hinges attached with 1/4" screws to the outside of the box. Quick, cheap, and easy. Quote
heppnerguy Posted July 17, 2014 Report Posted July 17, 2014 Thanks Jim , any chance for a photo of one ? Dick heppnerguy Quote

LarryEA Posted July 21, 2014 Report Posted July 21, 2014 Jim, ya make it look easy. You're a pro. You have those boxes looking perfect. I keep saying, 'Someday' and maybe I will. With the instructions you have given, I could do that. I'll finish the projects I have going and then....... Quote
Jim Finn Posted July 25, 2014 Author Report Posted July 25, 2014 Inlay is a technique worth pursuing if you are looking for things that will sell. Mine sell very well. 10 -20 a week, at just a farmers market here. Space rent is only $15 there every Saturday. I am working at keeping up with production at that level. Not quite doing it though. Good thing I built up an inventory last winter. Quote
