I have spent 3  1/2 hours filling in a form for Centrelink payments.  :curse:  :curse:  :curse:  It can cost me up to $300 a month for medication and I cannot get a healthcare card because Terry earns about $20 a fortnight to much.  So I figured that if I go onto Job search and do 30 hours a fortnight voluntary work I can get a healthcare card.  Method in madness.   But after filling out this form I am beginning to wonder who is more mental!   Have to go back in there tomorrow and probably fill in more forms.  There is a lot to be said for the British health system for seniors.

Sorry to hear you're having problems Marg. We are very fortunate here in Scotland. We pay absolutely nothing. Since this ticker problem reared its ugly head, I have a cupboard full of pills and potions like a pharmacy, which cost ZILCH. Oh!!!! except for the fuel to get to the surgery to pick up the prescription. ;)  ;)  ;)

Some folks complain about the N.H.S but compared to your system and our American friends, we are very lucky here in Scotland. Our ENGLISH neighbours have to pay a percentage of the cost. He He He.

You take care Marg and stay safe. I have just looked out the window and it is SNOWING very heavily!!!! I ain't going anywhere today    .

I don't think we were made to run on prescriptions

Just keep reminding yourself all days are good days, some are just gooder than others and in all the trials and tribulations there is always comfort to be found in family and friends - and you surely have a large number of friends here..

The trouble with doctors pushing pills is that they do it to keep there jobs because no customers no job. My friend just had a triple bypass of the heart and the surgeon said you wouldn't have lasted much longer because the pills your taking for your psoriasis is thinning the walls of you arteries and funny enough pills I was taking for arthritis was giving me heart disease, do we really know what they're giving us to keep us on there books.???? controversial one might say. Unfortunately, fixing the human body is not like fixing your toaster oven. We don't all respond the same way to the same treatment. If your auto mechanic had the same success rate as your physician, you'd never go back. I had one doctor say to me that we are all only put on this earth for one reason, to reproduce. The prime years for that are ages 15 to 20. After that your body begins to deteriorate so as to make it easier for the saber toothed tigers to get you. Don't know if he's correct, but the fact remains that we have managed to prolong our lives through various methods of health care. Hard to say if that's good or bad sometimes.

Well after all that time spent on filling in forms and waiting in queues  I didn't get it.  Terry although he is a low income earner is earning too much Like about $50, as you can image I'm not very happy at the moment but I guess I will survive.
