thatknobtony Posted February 10, 2015 Report Posted February 10, 2015 Hi everyone. I need some help with the new de Walt. I have found out recently that the boy and his buddy have been using the table on the saw as a work bench despite there being a true 16 ft. bench at 2 ft. beside them. Now the tilt is a bit goofy and it won't stay a constant speed. Should I take it back and play stupid (that doesn't sit well with me) or could it be an easy fix. Any suggestions that don't require a gun would be a big help. PS. Yes I did change the lock. Lol Thanks guys Tony Quote
Multifasited Posted February 10, 2015 Report Posted February 10, 2015 I would straight edge the table all around ,to check for warp .I suspect the rear center pin bracket has moved and thrown table a jar ,I would loosen clamp on rear pin table mount ,loosen miter knob wiggle table back and forth ,snug miter knob and check blade angle to table all four ways ,The two mounting bolts holding the miter arch may have moved as well ,the combination of those should allow you to get miter problem resolved ,frt to back blade angle will still show some lean (normal for aggression of cut )some -not excessive (without any, will cut sharper corners but be slower than hell !) Then try it constant speed may just be a loose wire connection behind the sw. not hard to check ,after that ,I guess Stupid is the easiest ,I am with you on ,my dislike for that kind of stuff ! I have never locked mine but have thought about it many times ! If I can help any more let me know if you were here ,well you know ,Good luck ,let me know how you make out !Carl tomsteve, Rob Roy, Doug and 1 other 4 Quote

Multifasited Posted February 11, 2015 Report Posted February 11, 2015 (edited) Thanks guys. Thanks Carl. That will be my mission on the weekend., but there is still that valentines day hurdle to get over. Tony ,I too have that hurdle to get over ,thanks to some wonderful people who designed a portrait of my wife and I , getting ready to go to atlanta now to the V.A., to get fitted for new hearing aides ,morning traffic is brutal and with V.A. schedules can't afford to be late .reschedules are tough . so then, I will be trying to do justice to patterns supplied . I got extra wood supply ,cut to different sizes ,kissed w/ DIY sand Flea and shrank wrapped supply in packages .so I'm ready . Keep me posted ,If I can assist any further !
