Maybe it's my age, my wife says I don't listen, but what ever it is, I don't remember

everyone's name.

All I have to go by when replying to a post is my memory and the 'login ID'

I hate leaving the post to check on the 'posters' name.

So, I've been trying to come up with a solution.

1) Do I refer to them with there login ID and is that OK?

Take CurtisIntarsia as an example... I would assume his name is Curtis... maybe not.

CurtisIntarsia says his name is Steve.  Figure that out.

2) Use a Generic Name.

This seems a bit out of sync.

   Like do I say:

"That's funny Tommy."  Tommy would be Ok for the British

but maybe not for Frank or Marg.

"That's funny Toots." Again NOT FOR Marg!

"That's funny Amigo, Pal, Bro, John Doe,  Jane Doe,  Jones, Joe (Bag, College, Cool).

So I decided I'm calling 'you by your LOGIN ID'

That OK?  post-5492-0-04930100-1424737100_thumb.jpg

I'm fine with Birchbark, i'm always impressed when someone remembers my name tho, here on the board its not so hard to look at the signature of the person usually, but in live chat its rough to remember everyones names.  I don't think anyone expects a person to remember all members names.  Wow would be tough.

I personally like using first names but I don't care what you call me.   ;)   It would be good if everyone put their first name at the bottom of their screen ( in the signature section in My Settings ) that way it would be easier to find.   But Larry I have a problem with names, faces I am fine with but names come and go.

Hey Larry, don't worry  about names. When I was working, the company issued us with name badges. I was politely informed my badge was given to me,(due to my age), so I didn't FORGET my name. Larry, I don't care what you call me as long as you don't call me too early.    .

Did you know Russell, your name is one of the oldest names in the world. It goes way back to the Garden of Eden. Apparently there was a RUSSELL IN the BUSHES.    .

Rob Roy.
