David Hall Posted April 15, 2015 Report Posted April 15, 2015 I'm a virgin pattern maker so be gentle. Any thoughts on the attached Lab pattern? I need to do something to her snout but I'm not sure what. amazingkevin 1 Quote
Smudger Posted April 15, 2015 Report Posted April 15, 2015 I'm only a novice at making patterns and think so far you have done a great job, getting a pattern from a dark picture like this I find very hard maybe one of the veteran pattern makers might have some ideas. Quote
LarryEA Posted April 15, 2015 Report Posted April 15, 2015 If that is the picture on the right that you made the pattern from, I'd say you did great. Quote
David Hall Posted April 15, 2015 Author Report Posted April 15, 2015 That is the picture I used. Hope to get a better pic of her tonight and try again. Quote
DonR Posted April 15, 2015 Report Posted April 15, 2015 Hi David, That is a great first pattern especially from that photograph. However, you did have several floaters which I took the liberty of fixing on the attached image. If I were making the pattern, this is how I would probably treat the snout. Keep on practicing and posting!! Don R sullyscroller, Scrolling Steve and amazingkevin 3 Quote

Catie-Pattern-noBG.jpg So close ,You gave up the ghost too quick. You had everything a dead ringer except for one small detail.I'm amazed you even got that far from a black photo.  Your going to be a real asset around here with your skills!  Quote
Travis Posted April 16, 2015 Report Posted April 16, 2015 I think that looks really good with the photo you used. The better the photo, the more detail you can extract. Black labs are tricky since they're all one dark color. You did a great job. Quote
