Travis Posted May 21, 2015 Report Posted May 21, 2015 I'm glad you enjoyed the video. The signs turned out great! This is the tutorial they're referring to: http://www.scrollsawvillage.com/articles.html/_/pattern-making/inkscape/word-art-intersecting-word-art-with-inkscape-r69 Check out the Articles section (tab at the top of the screen) for a ton of other useful tutorials and resources. OCtoolguy Posted May 21, 2015 Report Posted May 21, 2015 Thanks for the info everybody. I will now have to find the time to watch and learn. I don't know if I still have enough life left to learn all this stuff. But it sure is fun. And yes, you did a great job on those signs. Your cutting ability makes me envious. I won't ask how long you've been scrolling. Thanks for bringing this post to light. Ray Quote
OCtoolguy Posted May 21, 2015 Report Posted May 21, 2015 Wow!, Just watched the video. I will have to go back now and watch the first tutorial videos on Inkscape. This one was so fast, my old eyes couldn't follow and my brain definitely didn't follow most of his commands. But, I can see the whole idea. I just need to get a feel for the tools and what they all do. Baby steps. Ray Quote
34natl Posted May 22, 2015 Author Report Posted May 22, 2015 Thanks for all the compliments. Ray you are right baby steps. I can't remember how many times I watched the video. With today's technology I was able to watch video on iPad and follow along On my lap top. I did that a lot. My wife has gotten some orders for them at the school she works at. Thanks again everyone Mike wombatie and Travis 2 Quote

OCtoolguy Posted May 22, 2015 Report Posted May 22, 2015 34natl, thanks for the tip. I'll do the same thing. I gave my wife an iPad that she never learned how to use. I'll use it and follow along while learning. That's a great idea. I'm all about learning new stuff. Ray Quote
