Docupton Posted June 28, 2015 Author Report Posted June 28, 2015 (edited) 500g of minced beef 1 onion (diced) 2 tablespoons of oil 400ml of beef stock (not to thin) 2 tablespoons of worcester sauce 3 tablepoons of tomato ketchup salt and pepper to taste put all ingredients into a deep sided fry pan, add a heaped table spoon of plain flour and stir well, keep it on heat stirring occasionally for about 15 mins or until meat has browned, add to your pie dish and put on your pastry lid, cook at 200c for 35/40 mins till the pastry is golden brown, remove and serve with mashed potato and peas. Enjoy..... I think our minced beef is the same as USA ground beef.... Edited June 28, 2015 by Docupton wombatie and WayneMahler 2 Quote

Lucky2 Posted June 29, 2015 Report Posted June 29, 2015 We eat this dish quite often, it's one of my favs. But, there's always a bottom crust on ours, just like a regular pie. Doc, does yours have a bottom crust? When we make them, we make about a half dozen of them and freeze them for another day. On another day, we will make chicken pies and freeze the extras. It's nice to have them on hand, for when unexpected company visits and stays for supper. Len Docupton 1 Quote
Docupton Posted June 29, 2015 Author Report Posted June 29, 2015 Yes Lucky I do sometimes put in a bottom crust but last time I ended up with a soggy bottom so gave it a miss this time. Quote
