As of Monday August 17th I will  have a Knee replacement, and be off the saw for a while, until I'am able to take the steps to go into the shop, and my computer. At least I can stay in touch with my tablet., hopefully  I will be a little better for my show at the end of September.  edward

I had ankle surgery recently and am just now starting to walk after about 2 months.  I was able to use my saw as i have a low bench, normal chair and foot pedal so maybe you arent out of the game yet!!

either way get well soon.

Good luck with your knee Ed. My Mom had a replacement and you might be surprised. There will be things like stretches they will want you to do after and they strongly encouraged my Mom to try and use it as soon as possible. I would have been bedridden for ever because I'm a wussy. Take care.

I have had both replaced 6 yrs apart. You will experience some pain from the surgery, however it is much different from knee pain. The surgery pain is controlled by some pain meds, you'll not experience the knee pain any more. I found after a week most pain was gone and I didn't need any more pain med. Then comes rehab. There you will experience pain as you'll have to regain knee function. The best way to describe it is without continuing to stretch the muscles you'll not be able to either bend your knee properly or straighten it completely. Work - work  - work! It will come and in 6 weeks to 3 months depending you'll return to a pretty normal knee. Its worth it!

Here's wishing you all the best and a speedy recovery.    I wish they would do my husbands especially while he is still working and as plenty of sick leave, he certainly doesn't want to retire and not be able to do much because of his knee.
