I bought this saw at a woodworking show in San Jose California about 28 years ago. It is a very reliable saw and I use it often. It is very durable and reliable. I never had it break down but I did go for the new Quick clamp which makes blade changing must easier.
I do recommend this saw as I have been completely satisfied with it's performance over the years that I have used it.

Kevin, no magic word,"LOL" under the seat cushion is a lid with a piano hinge, it lifts up to allow my Great Grandson to put in his Toys, Just pulling your leg as you knew that," RIGHT"?

Ditto on what everyone has commented. I like your idea and may give it a go. I have never cut puzzles before and I might just attempt it using your technique.

I have owned the Hegner 18v for 28 years and do mostly fretwork with it, I do not have a problem with bottom feeding but wish they would come out with a top feeder. This saw is a complete work horse and has held up over the years. As others have commented all of the parts are available but pricey which I have a problem with as I think it is taking advantage of Hegner owners. Example: bellows replacement part sells for close to $50.00 plus shipping for a molded plastic part.

Iggy, I just replaced the Bellows on my 18v Hegner, it is a real simple fix, remove the old bellows and put the new bellows on by inserting the bottom of the Bellows on first and then lift the arm up and insert the top of the Bellows onto the upper arm. The cost of the part plus shipping was around $50.00. I would jump on that saw in a minute.

I just received my shipment of Pegas Modified Geometry blades and I tried the #5 this morning and was pleased with the ease of cutting thru 1/2" Red Oak. It cut smoothly and was amazed on how the blade followed the line throughout my cutting, staight and curved lines. After 2 hours of constant cutting the blade was just getting some what dull.
This will be my brand of blades from now on. It has my vote of confidence.

I started woodworking in my High School years after taking a 6 week course in wood shop. I fell in love with it and at age 85 I still like to go into the shop whenever I can. I am still recovering from a stroke I suffered in August of last year ,My second in 5 years. I sold many things over the years but when I retired in 1996 I did not want to feel like I went back to work so I just made it a hobby.
I enjoy making things and giving them to friends and family. At present I am making toys for Toys for Tots, Shriner's Hospital for Children, my local hospital's children's ward and novelty items for senior centers. It gives me great pleasure to see the smiles on Chidren's and senior's faces when I bring my creations to their centers.

Fantastic job on the car carriers, I made a couple of them about 2 years ago for my 2 Great Grandchildren. They still play with them and enjoy them. I really like your painting, great choice of colors.

Len, I lost my beloved wife in August, we were married 52 years and I have been very devastated and depressed over her passing. She was very ill for 3-1/2 years and I became her full time caregiver which was very time consuming and difficult. I do not do too much woodworking any more but I do visit the site from time to time. Thank you for your concern and at the same time I do appreciate all of the kind comments by all of you other members. May you all have a blessed and great week.
