Hi All.

After coming across a post by Roly (Phantom Scroller) about a pen he turned, it got me wanting to get the mandrel up on the lathe and turn a pencil kit. 😀

 

This is a Slimline pencil kit with copper fittings. These are great kits to practice with as they are pretty cheap.

I made a mistake however with this one. The brass ring you see just below the copper centre ring is the tube that gets glued in the middle of the wood blank. I went too deep with the skew, but as it happens it doesn't look too bad. 😊

Walnut and English Elm.
