trailfndr Posted December 1, 2015 Report Posted December 1, 2015 (edited) Made these Tropical Birds for a customer. Stain was used in all three pieces by customer request. 2 Hyacinth Macaws, both are 17 inches tall. only difference is the wood used for the perch, one is Zebra, one is Olive, the rest is Poplar, stained Blue, a small piece of Yellowheart, and Peruvian Walnut for the Beak. The larger piece is a Palm Cockatoo. it is 20 x 10 inches. Made with Poplar (stained Grey), Aromatic Cedar, Peruvian Walnut, and Spalted maple. Hopefully the customer is happy with them... Malcolm161 Posted January 12, 2016 Report Posted January 12, 2016 Fantastic work. What make of stain did you use for the larger bird, it is very realistic in that pale blue. Malcolm Quote
trailfndr Posted January 12, 2016 Author Report Posted January 12, 2016 Malcolm, that was a grey stain that I didn't allow to stay on very long. It was Minwax brand but I don't recall the exact shade Applied to Poplar. Malcolm161 1 Quote

I have been looking at your gallery of works, you have some remarkable art for sale and I would think you get good business at the level you have achieved. I hope I can get there once I start making this type of woodwork. Malcolm PS your #66 needs editing from feet to inches I think? Edited January 16, 2016 by Malcolm161 Quote
