Rob Roy Posted December 22, 2015 Report Posted December 22, 2015 Well, my friends old and new. I've missed a lot this past year due to ticker problems which necessitated numerous visits to the hospital.I shall be glad to see the back of this year and look forward to the start of the new year. There's light at the end of the tunnel, that may possibly mean there's another TRAIN coming, after the luck,(or lack of it ), I've had this year. . No matter, I'll keep on going and sort out a few work arounds, no point in moping about, got to keep the old grey cells buzzing, not that there's many of them left. On Christmas eve I will reach the end of another decade and hit the magical?????. THREE SCORE YEARS AND TEN. Here's to the new year. TO ALL OUR MEMBERS AND FRIENDS HAVE A WONDERFUL CHRISTMAS FROM US IN SCOTLAND. Rob Roy. A wee Christmassy picture of Culzean Castle, ( pronunced Culane). Rob Roy Posted December 23, 2015 Author Report Posted December 23, 2015 Thanks Rob, but you are still a young whippersnapper. I hit that a couple years ago. Hope you have a great Holiday season. My last name is Douglass so I am Scottish. Never cared before when I was younger, but the older I get the more I wish I could visit Scotland. You wish you could visit Scotland Paul????. Be very careful what you wish for . At the moment we are having wind that would rip your hair out, ( fortunately I don't have any), and horizontal rain with a few hailstones thrown in. Temperatures are going crazy too, we've had night temperatures here that are HIGHER than they were in the middle of the SUMMER. LOL. Maybe you should think twice. LOL LOL. You may or may not know this, but in 1945, just after WW 2, General Eisenhower was gifted the whole of the top floor of the castle for the rest of his life in recognition of his role as Supreme Commander of the Allied forces in Europe. He stayed there 4 times and once, when he was President. There is even an Eisenhower restaurant in the castle. The castle now belongs to The National Trust for Scotland. If you ever set foot on the Hallowed soil Paul, you will be more than Welcome. We DO have AIRPORTS here you know. . Have a great Christmas, along with a Happy and Prosperous New Year.Take care.
