I began the process in July. When they gave me a November 23 date for the interview I almost thought about forgetting it. But I went to the interview which lasted about 30 minutes, about 25 minutes was just shooting the breeze. Later that day I got my live scan and was scheduled for my qualifying shoot on December 23'rd. I was a little disappointed. You have to shoot 18 rounds, 6 at each of the three predetermined distances. A qualifying score is 70. I shot about a 140. for some reason I was up and to the left. But I did pass. They are now making appointments as far out as February, 2017. They are also averaging about 50 calls a day. So I feel fortunate that it only took about 6 months from applying to getting the CCW. One other thing. When I went for the shoot, they made fun of my 9 mm Taurus. It is nickle plated with gold and simulated wood grips. They asked if I worked for the cartels or if I was a pimp.
