There has been so much discussion and talks about copyright laws and all that to the point we keep digging up that dead horse and beating it one more time.... Plus I really hate that someone tries to take a pattern picture from a site and want's someone to change it for them just so they can have it for free which in my book is so very very wrong it just chaps my hide when people like this want something for free when just because they don't want to pay because they are to cheap to buy it or spend the time to look on here or other forums to find a free pattern that has been posted... or asking a design to please make them one I know for a fact Steve Good has a few along these lines... But know lets rip off a well known designer instead of waseting are time looking for something..........Sorry y'all I just do not agree with people like this and it irritates me to no end.... I think he did the right thing He purchased the pattern and not is just asking for help with a font. Will look up that Black rose font. heppnerguy Posted January 31, 2016 Report Posted January 31, 2016 Question....If you can change the font on a pattern as you like, Why can you then not add a date somewhere on it as well? Like maybe making the bottom boarder broader and putting the date there, if you wish ? I see people changing a pattern as they cut it, like maybe making a fret bigger because they are not comfortable with trying it with their lack of personal skill. Or I am considering taking a plaque pattern, using it and crediting the pattern maker but then making it into a box and using the pattern as the lid design. Am I wrong to think that ? Just a little confused on all this. I am buying the pattern and using it but are you saying I can not alter it so it fits my needs. Dick heppnerguy Quote

If you purchase a pattern, then you have a license to use that pattern which includes making changes for your needs. Helmut purchased the pattern in question from Sue Mey and then I helped him add the names and dates. I don't think anybody said that you couldn't make changes.
