Our old, Inkjet printer is starting to make strange noises (My old body does also, but I digress). We only need a basic printer/scanner, no bells or whistles. What would you Nice People recommend? Also, do you know of one that doesn't guzzle ink like crazy?

Suggestions most Welcome.

I kept my old printer/scanner just to use as a scanner.  Then bought a laser printer for $99 at Wally World last fall.  Have not needed to refill anything but paper yet.  Businesses use lasers because cost per sheet printed is way less.

No color but I only print pattern!

Well, Jerry, if you don't want one that guzzles ink get a laser printer.    My next printer will be a laser just because it sounds cool.

Jerry ,I have been refilling my own cartridges with non original ink .It costs nothing to refill each cartridge ,well pennies compared to $25. for each one.check into whether the printer you chose if refillable cartridges are availiable.Epson wf3520 takes them.I get the ink from amazon with cartridges for $32.00 and can print many reams of paper in color or b&w.

I bought a laser printer many years ago and wont go back to inkjet.   They print fast, the toner goes a long way and you can transfer the ink to a project if you wanted to.

Hi

I bought that Samsung laser printer at Walmart for like 99 bucks. It is great. Only black and white, but it copies also. I have it set up in the back part of my shop to print patterns.  Check it out.  A toner cartridge lasts a long time vs ink carts
