I found this 500 piece marble building toy set (not including the marbles in the piece count) at the thrift store for $10.  It's of course plastic, but I am going to use it has a template to make one out of wood for the grandson.  I am thinking it's going to take me at least a year to make the one I want.  I am fascinated by these marble machines, and I think it will be a nice easy going project, meaning I will make a few pieces here and there.  I am thinking it will be a good use of scrap wood from projects.
