Clayton717 Posted April 10, 2016 Report Posted April 10, 2016 here are three bowls I just finished. They are 9" diameter. one is oak, one is walnut and cherry with maple base, and the other is hickory and walnut. A friend / coworker's wife saw a bowl at a craft fair and wanted one. So I was asked to make one. He just came by and picked the one out he wanted. he chose the hickory and walnut even with the few flaws in it. He said it showed it was hand made. Before these three bowls I had never done a segmented bowl before. MTCowpoke22 1 Quote

It will give me idea's for a special one to try someday. Thanks friend! Quote
Clayton717 Posted April 11, 2016 Author Report Posted April 11, 2016 Thanks for the comments. Kevin nothing special. Just ripped boards to width then cut angles on each end, in this case I used 12 pieces for each layer so the angle was 15 degrees. If I remember I will take a picture of one of the rings tomorrow, but it is all walnut. otherwise you just alternate woods. Quote
