Filigree hearts

Here are another couple of filigree hearts with painted mdf backers.  The first is reclaimed Rimu, the second is a piece of scrap I was given.  I think the donor said it was red oak?  It was very tough to cut whatever it was.

 

Both finished with BLO and Rustoleum semi-gloss spray.

Both are beautiful.  I use red oak a lot (Chipmunk) tough but looks great.
