Fab4 Posted April 23, 2016 Report Posted April 23, 2016 Hi Helmut Another reason to put patterns on a USB stick. Nowadays, they are cheap and very easy to use Sorry, to hear about your problem Hopefully, someone near by can make it better so you can at least save your patterns and other important info. I'm sure there are some really good patterns in there Good Luck Fab4 P.S. Stick your finger inside the cd player and see if you can make it throw up - - - just kidding!!!---SORRY Scrolling Steve, sullyscroller and LarryEA 3 Quote
amazingkevin Posted April 24, 2016 Report Posted April 24, 2016 I put the usb stick in the place it goes but the computer will not download on it or a cd.It will do a cd almost to the finish and stop???? Quote
WayneMahler Posted April 24, 2016 Report Posted April 24, 2016 I copy all my patterns to a DVD, I just went through a hard drive that died. I was really happy for the dvd copies for a lot of things. I doubt anyone can argue with the art of backing things uo. I learned the hard way years ago, Quote
Phantom Scroller Posted April 24, 2016 Report Posted April 24, 2016 Is that a MAYDAY I here. BACK UP BACK UP always BACKUP. Tell us what's happening what do you see on screen??? Quote

helmut Posted April 25, 2016 Author Report Posted April 25, 2016 Falkon and her other friends! the sick computer issued following diagnosis by experts after intensive mechanical diagnosis: motherboard and hard drive irreparably shot up. caused by power surges. Quote
Sycamore67 Posted April 26, 2016 Report Posted April 26, 2016 Sorry to hear that.... As other have said....BACK UP....FREQUENTLY If you have power surges, one can use at a minimum a GOOD surge protector. Also, you can use a battery UPS which will help protect from surges and keep your computer on if power fails. None of these options is cheap but when you lose your data they become cheap. I am doing a backup tomorrow on the computers in my house. Quote
jbrowning Posted April 26, 2016 Report Posted April 26, 2016 When I first started photography. My harddrive got fried.Would'nt power up or anything. I took the computer to Best Buy and they someway somehow was able to capture most of my pictures. Just a thought. Jim Quote
Lucky2 Posted April 26, 2016 Report Posted April 26, 2016 Oh no Helmut, that's terrible, hopefully someone can help you out. If it would help, I could send you a copy of all of the patterns that I bought from you. Just let me know if you need them, good luck buddy. Len Quote
