Travis Posted April 25, 2016 Report Posted April 25, 2016 Science blew up in my face on my live stream yesterday. I'm making some bottle openers that are Fallout (video game) themed. I'm testing out the magnetic cap catcher when I had a slight beer malfunction. You can find the highlight is here: https://www.twitch.tv/bytravis/v/62749364 Fallout fun happens around 15s. I thought it was pretty funny. My shop and clothes smelled like beer, which made my wife question what I was really doing in my workshop all day. Rob Roy and Phantom Scroller 2 Quote
DonR Posted April 25, 2016 Report Posted April 25, 2016 Would love to see it, Travis, but it doesn't open for me. Don R Quote
Travis Posted April 25, 2016 Author Report Posted April 25, 2016 Ha! I fixed the link. It should work a bit better this time. Quote
rjR Posted April 25, 2016 Report Posted April 25, 2016 Did not work for me either! Opener research and development is expensive, but very necessary to make a better product! Continue the research! Quote
Phantom Scroller Posted April 25, 2016 Report Posted April 25, 2016 Wet your pants then Travis. haa haa. Roly Travis 1 Quote

LarryEA Posted April 25, 2016 Report Posted April 25, 2016 That's kinda neat on the catcher end. Just 'gotta' fix the loss of suds. Quote
thatknobtony Posted April 25, 2016 Report Posted April 25, 2016 I suppose if you look for the bright side it would be that the beer is open and could then be drank. But I try to avoid spillage myself. Lol. Quote

Chiloquinruss Posted April 26, 2016 Report Posted April 26, 2016 Now see I thought it was just me that 'stuff' like that happens to! So I open the gallon can of paint and it was a little 'jellowed', sooooo, I grab my trusty mixer blade insert into my trusty drill, I did NOT fasten the can down, well you know where this going right? I do like the opener though, logistical problems aside! Pretty cool! Russ Quote
Fab4 Posted April 27, 2016 Report Posted April 27, 2016 Travis: That is hilarious Love your comment, right after it happened Cheers!!! Would have liked to see you walk into the house trying to explain the smell. Fab4 danny 1 Quote
Travis Posted May 3, 2016 Author Report Posted May 3, 2016 Well, beer explosions aside, I did finish the bottle openers! This was the design I was going for. This was after the CNC work. This is the final product after the painting, distressing, and hardware added. I really like how they turned out. My wife claimed the red Nuka Cola one and my buddy is going to pick his favorite. I'll probably try to sell the other ones. It was a fun project. danny 1 Quote
