segmented fish

Hi All,

I cut this segmented fish exercise today. A piece of 1/2" thick Maple and cut with Olson #2 crown tooth blade/s (I broke one).

Should finish it in the morning.

@ Marg, I am going to paint as the Maple is very bland and has no grain figure at all.

 

Once I get the hang of this I would like to make some Intarsia with the natural wood grain showing, I think it would look awesome.

This one will get you started on a whole school of fish! Angles are pretty to see.Keep them coming!

Hi All,

Finished the fish. Quite like working like this so I will probably keep doing the exercises and see if I can keep making improvement.

I have attached it to a backing piece and it is sitting on my zero clearance plate.

That looks awesome Don...Great cutting and the painting is great as well...I hate painting so I use an air-brush...............
