amazingkevin Posted May 31, 2016 Report Posted May 31, 2016 (edited) Trying the mini bird houses wasn't going good at all.then the club started suggesting different tips and tricks as to how to go about it.Yes the cutting is slower than i'm used to but i only broke one blade by slowing down.they are cute as a bug and can't wait to see the little birdie perched at his new home.Thank you members for all the inspiration and help given last night in my post.I was going nowhere quick without your help!thank you! NC Scroller Posted May 31, 2016 Report Posted May 31, 2016 Wow I am impressed with the progress. Nice work. One more suggestion. Use Polar or other skip tooth blades and not reverse tooth blades. With the thicker material you want to clear the saw dust quickly and the reverse teeth actually prevent that. Quote
amazingkevin Posted May 31, 2016 Author Report Posted May 31, 2016 great work so far! Thank you MrsN they go quick once you get the step right Quote

Phantom Scroller Posted June 1, 2016 Report Posted June 1, 2016 Way to go Kevin a few tooth picks for the perches or wooden skews and hey presto a birdhouse. Oh and I use a No 5 reverse blade for the cutting of my birdhouses. Roly Quote
scrollerpete Posted June 1, 2016 Report Posted June 1, 2016 (edited) A good thing to use for the perch is 1/8" dowel, they are cheap and you cut them with a knife. With my bird houses I used a black felt marker and I painted black with it. Kevin you are getting close to master the "BIRD HOUSES", I am sure they will sell like hot cakes.
