Something Totally Different

I love scroll sawing and do a lot of it. But I also have another craft/art that I love and that's pine needle basketry. Being we are now traveling around CO and northern AZ with our trailer to escape the brutal heat outside Tucson, I thought I would post this basket. Made from long leaf pine needles with embellishments... This basket took a heck of a lot longer time than most scroll saw work that I do, but I do love doing it.

Too cool, I can only imagine how tedious doing this would be. It's a gorgeous piece, but working with pine needles? Do you use green needles, or, do you wait for them to turn orange?

Very beautiful.  I think about these types of baskets every year when I rake up the long pine needles from a tree in my yard.  Then I think, I do not need another hobby.
