Old Joe
So, I acquired a pretty nice piece of Ziricote, 1/2" thick, 3 3/4" wide, 23" long. Looking for suggestions. I am thinking about making another vase, but I don't think I want to do any fret work in it because the grain is so cool. But it's cool and rich on both sides. Any ideas? Thanks, Joe Edited June 20, 2016 by Old Joe
DWSUDEKUM
Looks like you have an alligator in the wood grain Joe it will be interesting no matter what you decide to make from it. Looking forward to seeing what you come up with. DW Old Joe

bandaideman
the shape of the board would lend it to a hand saw but finding a pattern that would leave most of the wood intact would be a challenge.

Lucky2
Joe, I know what you can do with it, stick a address label on it and send it my way. Len Old Joe

The board looks trapezoid in the pic, but it is a 3 1/2 x 23 rectangle. Edited June 21, 2016 by Old Joe
Be_O_Be
Maybe you could leave the piece intact and make it the front of a vase similar to this: BudVase.pdf Old Joe
rdatelle
I have to agree with Bob. A vase would look great with that design on the front of it. Maybe you can enlarge the pattern so you can get the whole design in it. Good luck. Old Joe
