Travis Posted January 21, 2010 Report Posted January 21, 2010 Uggg....that's rough. Stick with it though. You'll be glad you did. Keep chewing the gum and make some more sawdust. That should keep your mind off it a bit. Quote
Firedkm Posted January 21, 2010 Report Posted January 21, 2010 When did you have time to breathe?????? It will get better and a few pounds is better than what the smoke does to you! Quote
amazingkevin Posted January 22, 2010 Report Posted January 22, 2010 Congradulation GRANPA,you can do it ! i quit in 1986 cold turkey.AS you know i'm loaded with useless trivia but you'll like this related one.Eating a barbequed steak or what have you bbq'ed and the longer you cook it the worse it gets. Here it comes, eating bbqed food is like smoking 60 pacs of cigarettes. Think about all the smoke ,saturated into the food as it cooks. The food is the cigarette filter for the bbq.Remember if it tastes good it's probably bad for you.Sorry but true.Smoke of any kind can't be good for you.Don't reach for the candy now either, lol hope this helps you stay off the butts! :)most assureadly the worst habit i've ever had. amazingkevin Posted March 19, 2010 Report Posted March 19, 2010 Grampa !I'm very impressed at you.Wow has the time flewby.Eat a differant salad everytime to add variety to you food . I had a book of 365 salads which i lost.Your not going to gain weight eating salads unless your useing the wrong dressings. I lost 70 pounds on just fresh made carrot juice in 60 days. When theres a will there's a way .I see you have plenty of will. All things are possiable! Quote
r6239cleo Posted April 6, 2010 Report Posted April 6, 2010 Congratulation GRANPA Hang in there, I just recently passed the six month mile stone. I also felt like I felt worse since I quit smoking, however, it does get better. I still have cravings once in a while but just get busy with something to get my mind off of it. As far a the weight thing I haven't had a problem with it yet. Try writing down what you eat each time you eat something and after a while you get tired of writing down stuff and just don't eat it. It will also surprise you what you actually do eat. Keep up the good work and hang in there you can do it. Quote
