I just finished my 1st pattern, it has taken me 2 days to finish, I want to make sure it is right before I start cutting it, because it is a gift for my son and his wife. Please offer any suggestions to better it. Travis, just wanted to say thanks, I Just took your classes on gimp, and I must say I did not know what image manipulation software was until I joined the village 3 days ago, You are the man! Look forward to learning much more from everyone in the village, It's nice to have a place for a new scroller to go and learn, again thanks to every one in the village. Harvey

Fantastic attempt for your first pattern. Now this is just a personal opinion, but I would probably get rid of the background. I think the back ground clutters the cutting or another way of saying distracts from the main subject of the pattern. Again that is a personal opinion.

Messman, thank you, I took your advice and got rid of the background, my wife said I should get rid of the flower under her vail as well. So here is the new pattern, I like it, and I think I well start cutting tomorrow, can't wait. Thanks for your opinions.

I think that does look much better, even with out the missing ear  Now I may have left the flower behind the vail but again it is a personal choice, it would have depended on what it looked like in place vs. not there. Again great job on your first pattern, I think if you keep it up and you improve close to the rate I did you will be blowing me out of the water making patterns in no time.

Harvey, all I've got to say is, "You're a natural." If this was a first attempt after only three days on the site, and the pattern took only two days to make, well my friend, you have a natural eye for pattern making. Awesome job! I can't wait to see what that looks like cut. Please upload the finished cutting when done.

Like Chris said, if you keep progressing at that rate, you're going to make the rest of us look bad...LOL
