amazingkevin Posted August 9, 2016 Report Posted August 9, 2016 I'm not a frame maker and this triple project showed me all i don't know about picture frames.?This is for the octors nurses mom.Even though i took the short cut i'm no good at miters none of the pictures came out the right size ,The more i went the more mistakes show up.I ha to do alot of hiding.used a pin nailer glue chop saw and lastly the scroll saw to trim off extra wood.I gave her a price of $15.00 as i thought it was frameing a 8"x11" with 5 to 7 pictures in it .She calls and says make it as big as you can.Poor me,days later it's done.What did and do and always get into. now i need one more 8 ' piece of trim and i'm done . Figure out your prices ahead of time and have a "price list" to refer back to and/or provide to the customers for reference. If you have the price list - you can figure out ahead of time - general cost of your materials (include blade replacement, etc. not just the wood) and give yourself something for your time. Otherwise, you are loosing money, people are taking advantage. People will pay you if you ask for it. You are worth it! amazingkevin 1 Quote
