danny Posted September 17, 2016 Report Posted September 17, 2016 WAS NOTIFIED AND VERIFIED IT AND THERE IS A BREAK IN SOME GAS PIPE LINE. ANYONE HAVE ANY INFO TO SHARE. ANYWAY I JUST FILLED UP.... DANNY :+} Quote
dgman Posted September 17, 2016 Report Posted September 17, 2016 With the current gas surplus, I suspect it's a ploy to raise prices. Out here on the west coast, if one refinery goes down for maintenance, all the different brands will raise prices just because. Quote
danny Posted September 17, 2016 Author Report Posted September 17, 2016 Thanks Dan for your thoughts. Sounds like this would be possible. Danny :+} Quote
LarryEA Posted September 17, 2016 Report Posted September 17, 2016 One of Jerry's jokes... only, not as good.......... WayneMahler 1 Quote
bandaideman Posted September 18, 2016 Report Posted September 18, 2016 It was reported there was a pipe line break in Alabama and will take several days to fix which is causing a shortage which of course means there is not the supply for the demand. Which I guess means the demand is the same but there is not as much gas to supply that demand so will have to increase the cost at the pump so the company does not have a loss and will make up for the loss they have from a pipe line that needed maintance. Just my opinion not sure why everytime there is a shortage it cost more at the pump. but the price has started increasing up the east cost from south to north all the way to NY Lucky2 1 Quote
jerry1939 Posted September 18, 2016 Report Posted September 18, 2016 I live in a city of 15,000+ people. When one station changes their price, by some strange miracle, they are all alike within an hour or two. Certainly glad that isn't Price Fixing. jerry Quote
hotshot Posted September 18, 2016 Report Posted September 18, 2016 (edited) Wife came in and reported every gas station in town was out of gas, except one, which was limiting remaining full per customer. Officials report there is no gas shortage, but that hoarding is causing the issues. During the winter, after the first snowflake, the bread and milk disappears from the shelves. This is even more annoying. Edited September 18, 2016 by hotshot Quote

Lucky2 Posted September 18, 2016 Report Posted September 18, 2016 It is reported that there is a break in a major pipeline, they claim this may cause the price of gas to rise in the east. It has already gone up .05 cents per liter around here, they put the price up on thursday. Len Quote
spirithorse Posted September 19, 2016 Report Posted September 19, 2016 As the bird flies, we are over 600 miles from Alabama but, the day after this pipe break was on the news, the Sohio gas prices jumped 37 cents. Two days later the prices came down about 12 cents. As Jerry said, I sure am glad they aren't price fixing or price gouging. Oh well, I saw a chart once that compared gasoline prices to what the price would be if we filled up with mouth wash (or other liquids) and gas was still cheaper. LOLGod Bless! Spirithorse Quote
