I just took a look at the pieces I have donated over the years. It all started with me saying YES once, little did I know what I was getting myself into.

The first was 2010 our Village logo I had to go get permission at a Village meeting to use the Logo. The Blue is Saman stain. It is the only time I have used stain.

The sailboat is a Bruce Worthington design that modified slightly.

The others in order Logo my design based on an existing village logo, Hands Homer and Carol Bishop, Welcome sign Judy Gale Roberts,

Humming Bird not sure but the flowers are my design, Goldfinch is all mine.

Homer and Carol have some great designs.

Thanks to all of the great designers who give us so many choices and challenges!

I never kept track of what they went for ? I will say it is , at least to me, very humbling to have something in a live auction. There is always the anxiety of no one bidding. And deciding what to make.

And the right person has to be in the audience. I don't put a reserve on my work but the auctioneers will not give it away either.

I rarely make more than one of any of my intarsia projects but the hands gets many reactions that I made a second for auction. The first is on my wall at home, I only have four or five pieces at home.

I'm like you Rolf, not sure I would often make more than one of any one design.  Guess time will tell, but I learned a long time ago that I don't like doing "repeat" style work.  (Wouldn't have made a good factory worker I know.)  Course, I'm thinking that if I did "repeat" a design I might learn to perfect my work more.  I can see why the hands would have been so well loved.  Glad you kept some of your pieces for yourself.  We tend to give things away and forget to keep things for ourselves (other then those "beginner pieces" that we refuse to let be seen!  ;)   Thanks for sharing - I learn from "seeing" your work and that of others.
