A couple weeks back Rolf posted a picture of a beautiful Nativity Intarsia.  The pattern came form a German magazine called Feinscnitt.  Anyway I went on-line and ordered the magazine.  It took a little time as their website was all in German.  The issue cost me under $10 including shipping.  I ordered  it on a Saturday.  Received a shipping notice the following Monday.  It arrived on Saturday just one week from the day I ordered it.  It can't get any better much better than that.  Now just to find time to get back into the shop.

Scott, did you just order the one magazine, or did you subscribe to the mag? It would be very interesting to see, the difference in their patterns compared to North American designs.

Len I just ordered this one issue. It had a number of articles and other good patterns.

i've noticed thru the 12 years i've scrolled that over seas scrollers are tops in the field of great projects!

Actually Kevin that is not so. They have a few different designers but many of the articles were done by our own designers. Carole Rothman, Bruce Worthington, Carole and Homer Bishop  etc.

Scott the issue I ordered came in Saturday.

Babelfish and some translators are terrible at some technical translations.  I had six years of German in High School and muddle through.  There are several free word book -dictionaries available for smart phones.  I have used one in German and one in Italian for a few years now.  I correspond with a guy at an Italian muzzle loader club occasionally by email and we can figure things out with each of us using such a translator.  I also post threads on a German muzzle loader forum.  It is more technical and some words are not found in the smart phone app. but it helps enough so that I can get by.    An English-German dictionary is relatively easy to use.  Type in the German word and it gives the English equivalent.

Checked out the web site and with my HS German and being stationed there 3.5 years, was able to chew through it. It looks pretty good and I'm having my wife's family send me a copy. I should receive it after Christmas along with assorted goodies. I'll let you know how it goes.
