munzieb Posted March 11, 2017 Report Posted March 11, 2017 Not sure if this is the right forum for this. I am looking for a pattern for a 3/4 view of a Cessna 152/172 aircraft. Every year my wife's niece visits us from Germany and I try to make something special for her to take back. Last year I made her a Lufthansa plaque since she is crazy for that airline. She got her pilots license a few years ago and I want to make a plaque that incorporates the Cessna along with a well known pilots phrase "Aviate, Navigate, Communicate" Any help is greatly appreciated. munzieb Posted March 12, 2017 Author Report Posted March 12, 2017 Hi Don, Just started cutting the plaque. I figured I start on the text. I'm using 5/32 BB and puzzle blades. The first letter "A" was going well until I got to the end and then the center piece broke out. Any chance of getting the text slightly larger? Thanks in advance.. Quote
DonR Posted March 12, 2017 Report Posted March 12, 2017 Sorry I took so long, I didn't see your post. "Pattern Requests is a better place to place requests because we (at least I) tend to check that one more often. Anyway, here are a couple of options. If you need other changes just holler. munzieb Posted March 12, 2017 Author Report Posted March 12, 2017 Don, That was amazing! I'm going to have to ruminate a little on which one to choose. I'm a little nervous on the original script so may lean to the block style script. Which ever, I'll post when I'm done. If I have anymore questions, I'll roll over to the request site. Thanks again. DonR Posted March 12, 2017 Report Posted March 12, 2017 You can modify the bridges by eye as you are cutting. The bridges on this particular font are on the small side. Here it is with the bridges fixed ChelCass and frankorona 2 Quote

munzieb Posted March 14, 2017 Author Report Posted March 14, 2017 Hi Don, I'm "flying" along on the Cessna project. Opted for the block letter and they came out fine. I actually tried to slow my saw down using some speed control rheostats, but no luck. (using a E16) Got the upper portion of the wing done today. I definitely had to add and enlarge some of the bridges. Things started to get a little bit floppy. Had to give my eyes a rest. The straight line started to get wavy. I have a large LED magnifier I got from Woodcraft along with 2.0 reading glasses. I'm using a puzzle blade and cutting in both directions for the lines. Something I never noticed before, since I usually only cut in one direction with this blade, once I open the line up, I noticed that the blade is more aggressive on the right hand side of the cut?? I've used that to my advantage to nibble away any wobble I have in the line. Since I reinsert and taped the letters and larger cut pieces, can't see any changes yet in the pattern. DonR 1 Quote
