oldhudson Posted March 13, 2017 Report Posted March 13, 2017 I started woodworking in the late 70's and on March 14, 1982 I purchased a new Shopsmith. (For those of you who may be unfamiliar with this equipment - it's a multi-purpose tool. The basic unit is a table saw, drill press, horizontal boring machine, lath and disk sander. I have additional add ons of a jointer, band saw and belt sander.) Me and my Shopsmith have spent 35 years together so tomorrow raise a glass with me and toast a great partnership. bobscroll, ChelCass and Fab4 3 Quote

Scrappile Posted March 13, 2017 Report Posted March 13, 2017 You either never used it or tool awful good care of it. I have a friend that has one. He now has a huge shop with his Shopsmith sitting in it. I keep telling him it is time for a big unisaw, big drill press, big jointer.... he agrees and yet still keeps using his Shopsmith. Quote

I don't think he ever had any problems with it. Good Machine. Quote
