Scrappile Posted April 27, 2017 Report Posted April 27, 2017 Well, ladies, my wife says she hates to cook also, but she is awfully good at what she hates. If she loved cooking I would be 600 lbs I guess. My wife is even a better cook than my mother was, and that is really saying something.... Dick and Sharon, I think I read you finalized yesterday(?). If so, congratulations, it looks like a lovely place. I well really miss our visits, but we will meet up along the way once and a while. How is the Heppner family taking it? amazingkevin 1 Quote

I'm glad to hear your wife is there with us Paul. I tell everybody, I said I don't like to cook - not that I can't cook. I can cook, but I find no joy in cooking. I know many people who LOVE to cook - who find great joy in it - I don't. I cook to eat because we need to eat to live. But there is no "joy" or "happiness" from the act of cooking. My husband likes to cook more than I do so when he retires he will become the "cook" in the family. Dick @heppnerguy I was wondering about the Heppner girls in the family were going to do if Mom and Dad moved away from Heppner! Quote
Phantom Scroller Posted April 30, 2017 Report Posted April 30, 2017 Very nice but you can always eat out and keep it clean. Roly amazingkevin and bobscroll 2 Quote

Our girls in Heppner were quite unhappy but they are starting to accept that our moving is something that is going to happen.. we told them we would purchase them air fare to come visit whenever they have the time off. I never thought at 77 we would be making a move like this but we prayed for help in finding us a home and the Lord showed us this one. Dick heppnerguy amazingkevin and Phantom Scroller 2 Quote

We will just go back to Oregon from teh middle of June to the middle of August. I need to keep the wife comfortable and happy.. Dick heppnerguy Quote
Scrappile Posted May 1, 2017 Report Posted May 1, 2017 I bet it is not a hard adjustment. Where you and I live it is not quite as dry but almost. Now the one time I went to Florida, I stepped off the plane and thought I was going to die!! Wasn't even as hot temperature-wise as we have in the summer, but the humidity, wow, made it hard to breath. Quote
heppnerguy Posted May 3, 2017 Author Report Posted May 3, 2017 I remember when Sharon first experienced the high southern humidity and she had the same feeling of 'hard to breath' in it Dick heppnerguy Quote
